This is a list of some (but not all) of the books I read in 2007. These are all worth mentioning, though. If you like any of them (or profoundly dislike any of them) let me know. I always love to talk books.
- Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke -- The Best List topping debut novel.
- The Samurai Series -- Three ancient texts concerning Samurai and Bushido.
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling -- Need I write anything about this?
- Hell House by Richard Matheson -- Classic Horror novel.
- Decision In Philadelphia by Christopher Collier and James Lincoln Collier -- Non-Fiction account of the 1787 constitutional congress.
- The Traveler by John Twelve Hawks -- SF tale that I've heard a lot of talk about, so I decided to check it out.
- North and South by John Jakes -- First of the famous Civil War epic trilogy.
- Master and Commander by Patrick O'Brian -- First in this classic sea-faring series.
- Un Lun Dun by China Mieville -- his YA novel that reads (like all good YA novels) like an adult novel.
- Not Your Father's Horseman by Valerie Griswold-Ford -- debut novel that mixes fantasy, techno-thrillers, and more.
- Mindscan by Robert J. Sawyer -- one of his best.
- A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith -- what to say? I've always meant to read this one. Now I have.
- The Way Of All Flesh by Samuel Butler -- considered to be one of the greatest Victorian novels ever written, I found it to be an engaging (though bumpy at times) look into this particular society.
- Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Novels and Stories, Vol. 1 by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle -- Self-explanatory, I hope.
- This Is Your Brain On Music -- Non-fiction look at how the brain processes music.
