The Stuart Jaffe Website
Biography
So, it's Bio time, huh? Well, here it is: I was born in 1971 in New Jersey and moved around quite a bit as a kid. I've spent time in Michigan, California, the Virgin Islands, Pennsylvania, and currently North Carolina. I have a wife, a son, five cats, several frogs, three aquatic turtles, one tortoise, three rabbits, three tarantulas, two gerbils, one rat, one corn snake, two fire-bellied toads, and lots of fish. The list never stops growing.
I earned my BA in Directing Theater and an MA in English. Both came from West Chester University in Pennsylvania. I'm also lucky enough to be married to a wonderful woman who is a scientist.
I started writing during college. I had always wanted to write a book and had tried out a few short stories. I realized, at one point, that if I could manage just one little page each day, then at the end of the year, I would have written 365 pages.
Hopefully, somewhere in that process, I would also have managed to write a good story. And so I started.
Well, that book sucked but I had begun thinking in terms of how to construct a novel and over time (and after a few more attempts) I managed to put out some good work. Through various contacts I ended up making friends with Pam Scoville who
eventually became my agent. And now I'm writing my bio on my website and hoping you enjoy these stories as much as (if not more than) I enjoyed creating them.
In addition to novels and short stories, I write book review for Infinityplus.com and Fantasy Magazine. I've also dabbled in screenplays, comics, and just about any form of wriitng you can think of.
Outside of writing, I've been involved with theater, played duplicate bridge for a time, and I hold a 2nd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
That's all for now.
